Events List “widget is missing”

    Within the week or so something has broken that now leads me to getting an error when I try to use the Events List block on a page. The error I get says “Legacy Widget – Widget is missing.” and the block does not appear in page previews. However, the Events List block does work as intended when I use it as a widget in a sidebar.

    Is this a bug within the latest update or just a problem on my end? I would like to be able to use the Events List block outside of a sidebar.

    Yikes! I am sorry to hear that.

    I just tested the latest version of our plugin with default WordPress themes and I am still able to add the Events List block on a page.

    This most likely means that there is some type of conflict somewhere.
    After a backup of your site, I would recommend going through conflict testing on a staging site: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

    If that is not fruitful, I would recommend reinstalling our plugin from scratch (normally the events should remain unaffected by deleting and reinstalling the plugin).

    Hi Geoff,
    I tested for conflicts like your site says but the widget still didn’t work, even on the Twenty Twenty theme with no other plugins activated. I also tried reinstalling the Events Calendar from scratch but that didn’t fix the problem either.

    Have you tried adding the Event List block as a legacy widget to a page to see if you encounter the same problem?
