Thank you for your mail. As I have been told so many times, free plugins come with no support, if you do offer support for the free versions of your plugins, then that should be made clear to the end user in the plugin description, on knowing this I would have contacted you for help. I use the free versions as way to determine their potential functionality and if I believe they will do what I want them to do, I will then pay for the upgrade.
I did view a number of your documentation pages, but never went through it entirely and after going through a couple of pages and seeing numerous references to PHP, to set up things like categories and templates which does require some knowledge of coding.
I have been using WordPress for the past 4 years and in that time I have only found 1 plugin that works exactly how it was described by its developer, the rest have required tweaking and trolling the internet in search of a resolution. I have left numerous posts for help on the WordPress forums and I have only ever received 6 reply’s leaving me high and dry without help and one of them is yours. I can truly say that I have spent more time dealing with plugin issues than actually working on my sites.
The review I left yesterday was the result of spending 6 hours trying to get an event handler to do what I want it to do and that does not need tweaking or me spending my valuable time trying to sort out functionality issues.
I was advised by my hosting supplier that WordPress was the best solution for my needs, however it has got to the point where I am spending more time dealing with plugin issues, than creating a site for my new business, which has resulted in me cancelling my WordPress package and transferring my contract to webspace, where I will create my site with html and css which will take a third of the time I have spent on WordPress.
I will be more than happy to review you plugin again as my blog is still active on WordPress and I will certainly revise what I have said, but the review will stand if I have to spend hours coding or the resolving functionality issues. You stated above that you have “set reasonable defaults”, when I installed and activated your plugin there were no defaults anywhere, the events were empty as were categories and templates, which is why I went to the documentation.

I can certainly code using html and css, which is why I do not understand why these plugins have so many issues, your comment stating” I doubt you find anything good enough for you“ in the case of WordPress plugins you are probably correct, I have extremely high expectations when it come to parting with my hard earned money and I expect things to work exactly how they are described, which in the majority of WordPress plugins they do not work as described
