I have seen many people with this problem but I have yet to see a resolution. My events manager will not sent email notifications. I have tried every sending method, I’ve disabled ALL other plugins and yet it still refuses to send. Even the ‘test email settings’ button error’s when sending. All other plugins have no problem whatsoever sending mail but this one wont.

  • Is the mydomain.ca the same domain as your website?

If so, this may well be an issue with the way the mail server on your hosting is configured, and something you’d need to talk to your host about.

    Thanks

The mydomain.ca is my own biz site and not the site that this problem is occurring on. Apparently this is a common problem.

Are the admin notifications being received by the gmail and hotmail addresses?

If so, that suggests something wrong with the way Events Manager Pro has been configured, rather than any difference between the email addresses.

Are you using Custom Email Booking Templates?

I am using default email templates.

Nothing in the process is being received by the gmail or hotmail addresses.

All emails whether going to the user or to admin are being received as long as those addresses are NOT gmail, or hotmail.

    Resolved (for now)

This issue was actually occurring for the events manager plugin AND the s2Members plugin.

Using the SMTP setting fixed the events plugin issue but only after I reset the ‘from’ email password (I was using the wrong one…my fault…sorry)

This however only fixed the events plugin. The other plugin that had the same issue (which doesn’t have SMTP options) was fixed by installing the ‘WP Mail SMTP’ plugin.

Thanks for your input…hopefully this will help others with this issue.

I’ve found a bug with the test email settings button, that’ll get fixed.

I’m not aware of conflicts with s2 and emails, but chances are it’s because your native server email wasn’t working and smtp did the trick. You could now select just WP_Mail in your EM settings and they’d both use the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

I had the same problem with a site. After a few hours of experimentation the fix was to disable the send using HTML. Hope that helps anyone looking for a quick solution. We are using WP Mail as the sending method.
