Events Manager Pro – CAPTCHA

Yes, we have a custom booking form editor which includes a reCaptcha field you can add. You can see it in action here – https://demo.wp-events-plugin.com/events/neil-young-main/

I did find the Captcha option and I did create and copy the keys from the Google site but I don’t see the Captcha showing up on the form at https://www.buckeyemini.org on the events.

Is there a specific plugin that I need to install?

the reason for that is because you require users to log in, recaptcha only works with logged out users, i.e. to prevent spammers.

what you could do to require logins and registrations to have captchas is use a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/installation/

Thanks Marcus. Your advice has been very useful. I now believe that I have a human being playing with me and I guess there’s no safeguard against that.

It would be nice to be able to see the meathead’s IP address when he/she does a user creation on the Bookings page and perhaps then I could find a way to block it.

Perhaps now with CAPTCHA required for login and bookings that the person will get bored and go away!

Since they have to register, I suggest a seperate security-related plugin to deal with the spammer. Pretty sure there’s some around that’ll register the IP on registration and allow blocking etc.
