• Using WordPress 3.6.1, Events Manager 5.5.2, WPML 3.0.2-a (Full CMS version). I also have the EM WPML compatibility plugin installed, all other plugins disabled, and I switched to Twenty Thirteen theme to confirm that it’s not my custom theme.

When I attempt to make any changes in the dashboard of EM, changes will not save or reflect the change in the dashboard forms.

I discovered this issue when trying to disable the search box in the dashboard EVENTS > PAGES > EVENT LIST ARCHIVES > Show Event Search. Check the radio button, click save, the screen refreshes but nothing saves (and nothing changes).

When I disable WPML and repeat the previous steps, the screen updates and the settings are retained (and the change is reflected on the front of the website.

Any assistance you can offer is greatly appreciated.

  • The first thing I’d suggest is updating WordPress – that’s a fairly old version and it could be the cause of your problem.

It’s not that old — WP has been blazing through updates the past several months. Last upgrade on this site was in October.

Nevertheless, since it’s on a test site I upgraded to 3.8.1, and the issue remains. Changes in the dashboard in EM will not stick with WPML enabled.

How recent is that version of WPML? Is it possible for you to test on an ealier version?

If you deactivate the EM WPML compatibility plugin does that make any difference?

No, I cannot switch to an earlier version of WPML. It is the most recent version. I do know they came out with this upgrade to version 3.x in the past several months.

When I disable the EM WPML compatibility plugin, I can edit and save settings, but links on the front end break.

When I disable EITHER the main WPML plugin or your WPML compatibility plugin, I can update the settings within the Events Manager. Weird.

weird, can you try to enable wp_debug or check you php logs to see if there’s any other error ?

Nothing in the error log to indicate what the conflict might be. I’ll keep an eye out.
