  • Hi,

Which two tables are you comparing? wp_em_events and wp_postmeta?

Yes, the table fields in wp_em_events are duplicated in wp_postmeta, and not only for wp_em_events . . .

As far as I can see, there are only some values that are duplicated. The reason would be optimize database queries and reduce the server “effort” needed to display frequently used information.

    Hi,

Events Manager was developed before the custom post support of WordPress.

My feeling is that the original tables were kept while events and locations were turned into custom posts.

So all the information is duplicated (for events and locations) and it is perfectly possible to create legacy events and locations from the custom post (using new EM_Location() and new EM_Event())

I think it was a good idea to keep the original tables (with 1 data per table column) so that the DB queries are more efficient

metadata are handy but require an awful lot of JOIN if you want to access the information in one go

I agree with you, metadata requires a lot of JOIN so i want to know if this plugin use data in wp_em_events or in wp_postmeta to retrive data.
