  • Hi, I have exactly the same problem and need a solution for this. If an event page is opened, the menu item of the event’s category should be selected! I tried some plugins and a custom menu walker, but I did not found a really good solution ??

But I also have another problem which you don’t have on your site:
How did you created the submenu entrys for each event category?

    hi,

this might be a theme issue and maybe your theme developer does have quick snippet to this.

    thanks

    jannik:
I added manually copied “Links” to the menu.
Copy the URL of the specific category page into the URL field in Design > Menus > (your menu) and give it a name.

    angelo:
I am using theme “Twenty Twelve”. Modified it by myself – using a child theme.

If you take a look at the official Events Manager demo site, there is the same issue:

Events List (navigation item “Events” active)
    https://demo.wp-events-plugin.com/events/

Single event (navigation item “Events” inactive)
    https://demo.wp-events-plugin.com/events/cecilia-bartoli-2-2015-02-13/

So the problem seems to be not the theme…

I see what you mean however you might need additional coding to make this work because I tested few themes before that automatically do this.
