Events not showing up on individual day template

Events are not showing up on the individual day template page.
For example, events are showing fine on the main calendar view:

If you click on one of the individual events – e.g. Banbury Sound Interview on 7th April – you get the details of that individual event. However, if you click on the day number in calendar view (e.g. the number “7”), you would expect it to list the two events on that day… but it says there are no events scheduled:

The same error can be replicated by changing the “View As” drop-down selector from “Month” to “Day”, then changing the date to 7th April.
Please advise what can be done to fix this. Thank you.
