    Hi Patrick,

    We have a quick question.

When setting up recurring events, we would like the Event slide to automatically display the upcoming events.

For example, our recurring event spans from March to June. As April approaches, we would like the slide show to automatically start with April. March should be dropped automatically.

What should we do to set it up correctly.

    Patrick,

    Events Manager has a placeholder {is_future}content{/is_future}

How to integrate this into your slider?

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Jing,
The very first sentence (the exact example) in the plugin settings answers your question.
{is_future} is a conditional placeholder, not a search argument, so those cannot be used.

    Patrick,

    Thank you.

Did you mean inserting such a statement like [events_slider scope=”future”] or [events_slider scope=”2-months”] in the Single Slide Format dialog box?

    Something like this? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uSiMh0xCIvy5BrtzJLcy3iXWtWU3twbC/view?usp=sharing

    Thanks a lot.

We love your product. A lot better fit than other Slider products even though they have much higher installations. Perfectly made for Events Manager. Loads very fast. Please keep it up. We count on you!

No… you can never ever put a shortcode in the output of a shortcode.

It works exactly like the Events List. You format how you want each slide to be outputted as (looks like) in the Single Slide Format. Then, you place the shortcode in the content of the page you want it to appear on. Just like every other shortcode.

    Patrick,

I am not a coder and I am not sure where to insert the code. Could you be more specific.

I tried to put in the dialog box:

This does not work so obviously I got it wrong.

Or, should I put it here?

    I am very confused.

    Patrick,

We need your help to make this work. Please be patient.

Which page could we insert that statement?

    Patrick,

With all due respect, WordPress’ success is it brings people with different backgrounds and skill sets to work together.

Because people like us do not have the skills you do, so there is a growing market for your product.

Our developer is wondering if it is necessary to customize your core file to make it work. I doubt it.

I think there is a much cleaner and easier way to use your product to achieve the goal.

    Your advice is greatly appreciated.

    Jing,
“How to use a shortcode” is not something I should have to teach you.

If you have a “developer” and he does not know how to use a shortcode, he should not be allowed to call himself a developer.

    Here’s an explanation:

    Patrick,

    Never mind.

We have found a perfect replacement.

Your product is more relevant than Soliloquy slider. But Smart Slider 3 is decidedly better. We were very glad to invest in the solution. You might want to look into Smart Slider 3 to see how they designed the user interfaces.

    Your points well take.

But keep in mind, those well versed in coding may not even need any plugin product at all.

To the audience you are targeting, making documentation and user interface intuitive could be as valuable as the product itself.

You are not in the business to prove you are the best coder. You are there to help those who may be totally illiterate with coding. In the end, we all need more downloads / users to propel our growth. Smart Slider 3 clearly gets it. Their product is at least 50% more expensive than Soliloquy. But it is worth every penny. The user experience is a day and night difference as compared to Soliloquy. Check it out.

I have no doubt soon you will emerge as the toughest challenger to Smart Slider 3. I greatly admire your passion, commitment and ideas.

I have added what we believe to be a bug in Events Manager support forum. The more we test, the more it looks like a bug to us. Any insights you can provide is greatly appreciated.
