    Hi there,
I’d installed and troubleshot the plugin/eventbrite connection in a dev subdomain and it worked fine.

I’ve launched the new site by migrating the dev site to the www location and while the eventbrite info shows, the details pages 404.

I’ve updated the application and OAuth urls on the eventbrite side (used to read dev.robpasick.com …. now reads https://www.robpasick.com – tried it also without the www, didn’t seem to make a difference – both failed equally to get details pages).

I looked at other relevant threads and tried the following:

    • I’ve hit save on the permalink settings page.
    • I’ve deactivated and reactivated the keyring and eventbrite plugins.

Here is the page that has the 404 links for the details

    https://robpasick.com/leaders-connect/leaders-connect-breakfast/

The site will be announced on Friday, so I need for this to work again by then! Thanks for any input.

Oh, prior to migration I also moved the page this was on down a level in the site, so there’s a 301 redirect from the old url

    https://robpasick.com/leaders-connect-breakfast/

    to

    https://robpasick.com/leaders-connect/leaders-connect-breakfast/

that might be getting in the way. I don’t need the 301 redirect, since the site was never live with this URL, but it might be part of the issue, just a guess.

    Hi,

It does sound like the redirects are confused; you can flush the rewrite rules by going to Settings > Permalinks and hitting Save again (you don’t have to actually change anything).

If that doesn’t work, can you install the Rewrite Rules Inspector plugin? It will show up under Tools, and allow you to flush rules from there. Proper rewrite rules should show the page with your events at the top, eg. ‘leaders-connect/leaders-connect-breakfast/…’

Thanks, yes have hit “Save” in Settings > Permalink a few times now. No change.

I saw the rewrite rules plugin suggested in another post, and installed it. I’ve hit flush a few times now…! Also no change.

In the list of rewrite rules, I don’t see anything in the 100 rules I’ve got with leaders-connect in it. Most of it looks like more general rules to me…

the ones at the top are

    Rule Rewrite Source
    sitemap_index\.xml$ index.php?sitemap=1 other
    ([^/]+?)-sitemap([0-9]+)?\.xml$ index.php?sitemap=$matches[1]&sitemap_n=$matches[2] other
    ([a-z]+)?-?sitemap\.xsl$ index.php?xsl=$matches[1] other
    category/(.+?)/feed/(feed|rdf|rss|rss2|atom)/?$ index.php?category_name=$matches[1]&feed=$matches[2] category
    category/(.+?)/(feed|rdf|rss|rss2|atom)/?$ index.php?category_name=$matches[1]&feed=$matches[2] category

The only reason/place I noticed the leaders-connect rewrite was in an SEO crawler I ran on the site….doesn’t show up in the rewrite rules list at all.

Hm, I think there’s a problem if the Eventbrite Events template page is assigned to a page which is itself a subpage; will see if we can get that solved.

Is anything improved if you deactivate any plugins that might affect rewrites/permalinks, and don’t use a subpage? I understand that’s pretty troublesome stuff to test, just trying to get to a root cause.

    Thanks for your note.

I have promoted the page to no longer being a subpage and tested that…it seems to address the issue.

I didn’t have to deactivate any of the plugins to get this to work.

    Thanks again!

This is resolved enough for me. I can leave the page where it is in the hierarchy.
