Everlight Premium Trial not working

I installed the premium file for the two weeks trial and then went in to change the way it was viewed, and it didn’t matter what boxes I clicked on, nothing changed in the page view.

I tried:
various backgrounds – nothing
background colour – nothing
themes – no difference regardless of theme selected and saved

I won’t be purchasing the full version if I can’t use anything in it.
