Hi, sorry I have another question. My customer wants to offer a 25% discount on every second, third and so forth product, without a discount ever applying to the first.

Assume the item price is €100. For 2 items I can set a discount of €25, for 3 it’s €50 and so forth. I need to be able to sell up to about 15 in total. This setup may not be poetry but it works for me, EXCEPT by 6 I come up against the max nr of discount rules – since I need to specify a discount for every amount between 2 and 15.

Is there a different way to set this up (possibly a better one, I’m a newbie) in Discounts Manager? I went over the information on the Pro version, watched the videos and got confused.

Thanks again (and thanks in advance for your patience).

  • @knowdis As per your scenario you can define rules as given in screenshot, it will apply 25% discount if product qty is 2 and 50% discount if product qty is 3 or greater than 3.

If this is not answer you want then kindly share some screenshot for better understanding.

    Thanks

@knowdis i want to answer your query regarding the following requirement:

“Without a discount ever applying to the first”
In fact, this plugin applies discount to all products.

    Reason?
Actually it works with either quantity or weight. Your case is product.

    Solution
We have to discuss your requirement as a 3rd case which is not yet present in this plugin. That, one product (no discount), 2nd and so forth with 25% and if products are over 10 then 50% discount. Like this, it will be a different case than qty. and weight based discounts.

@abdulrazzaq4085 Thanks. I think the rule in your screenshot would apply 25% to every item, but the requirement is for a discount to apply to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th item and so forth but never to the first. My first rule is 2 items, €25 off (flat, not %), second rule is 3 items, €50 off, then 4 items, €75 off so the totals are correct.

@fahadmahmood Thanks. I understand the issue. Still I got the criteria to work; I just need more of them. In https://youtu.be/lYStZ8J0kTg?t=125 (2min into your video 3. Pro Features) you seem to mention that the number of criteria is parameterizable. Is that correct? Then I could achieve my goal with the Pro version of your plugin.

@knowdis i think you will not give discount on initial criteria and for further you will enter the discount number. Correct, you are understanding it correctly. But i would suggest you to try FREE version, you don’t need PRO version because the difference is only product page and general settings page. Please watch the relevant videos.

Thanks again. I’ve got the free version running and it’s fine except I need more criteria. I’ve watched all the videos, that’s how I found the parameterizable setting for the number of criteria in your pro version.

I understand that this pro feature is for categories, but surely I can put the products that require this ‘start-at-two-items’ discount in a category of their own?

Alternatively, can you provide a tailored version, free plus more criteria? I have no problem paying for that. The number of criteria would not have to be parameterizable, as long as I have say 25 of them built in. I’m pretty sure I heard you say in one of the videos that actually the number could be just changed in the code – which is cool except I wouldn’t know how ??

You’d really help me out with this peculiar, particular need.

@knowdis Please see the screenshot, you can change the number of criteria in index.php file on Line 96.
