Every letter is gone but H

What other plugins are you using, except for BuddyPress and BuddyPress First Letter Avatar?

Could you share a link to your blog, so I can see how it looks on the outside? This plugin uses quite unusual way of setting the avatars – it is based on alt attribute of the avatar img tag. Unfortunately, BuddyPress does not allow a plugin to use any cleaner solution to this. Therefore it is very likely to cause some problems, so I would need to take a closer look.

P.S. Are you sure the problem wasn’t there with 1.0.1 version and occured right after updating to 1.0.2 version? Could you please make sure that this is the case by downgrading to 1.0.1? You can download it here – https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/buddypress-first-letter-avatar.1.0.1.zip . If 1.0.1 is working fine and 1.0.2 causes problem, that would make looking for the problem easier for me.

Big thanks for answering so fast.

I was almost sure that the problem started with the upgrade but just to make sure I downgraded as you advised and the results are fine, meaning every user has its own letter with version 1.0.1.

I am using lots of plugins other than buddypress but as the 1.0.1 version of your plug-in works fine, I think it is safe to assume that it is something with the upgrade. But I may be wrong, I am not an expert or anything.

Good to know that 1.0.1 works fine, it should be easier to look for a root of the problem.

I Installed your plugin, but there is a problem, When I login in my buddypress site, I see that all members without avatar are the same my first letter “P”. If I loggin with another name (for example Roberto) all other member witout avatar are the same letter “R”, how I can resolve?

Sorry for the trouble. I planned to release new fixed version before the weekend, but I had a lot of work. I still don’t have much time at the moment, but I will do my best to release an update on Tuesday. I will also include couple of other fixes, so I need to spend some time with it.

Btw. just to make sure – can you tell me what is an example alt attribute of the avatars on your site? Usually it’s Picture of [username] or Profile picture of [username]

Yes for avatar I say the image of the profile. In my site I have an account as admin without image profile and my name is Pietrogramma.
I created two other accounts with a fantasy Name (Roberto and Guia) like user (and not admin). Also Roberto and Guia don’t have image of profile.
If I loggin in the site with account Pietrogramma, The avatar letter for Pietrogramma, Roberto and Guia is the P(ietrogramma), but if I logout and then enter with Roberto’s or Guia’s credentiala, the users without image profile, like image of the profile have all the letter R(oberto) or G(uia).

I use: WordPress 4.1.1, Buddypress ver. 2.2.2.1 and the last of your plugin

Today I upgrade with the new your version but the problem there is yet.

Plugin has not been updated yet. I’m currently very busy, but I will update it today. I know where the problem lies – it’s already solved and I just need to find an hour to finish couple of lines of code and update the plugin in WP Plugin Directory.
