• So, I was at work and trying to add a new page.. I added it and went to view it to make sure I had my images in the correct format and all, and bam, I get a 404 error. I got the 404 from clicking from my homepage and also from “View this post” within my admin center. Every single post is also giving me the 404 error.

All my pages worked fine before. I didn’t touch the permalink structure. I did try changing it back to Default, but it didn’t work.

From my main direction (cccombobreaker.com/blog), I looked at my htacces. It’s:

    # BEGIN WordPress

    # END WordPress

I haven’t a clue what to do. I just want to get everything working again. Can someone provide me some insight?

  • Same here. Please, HELP!
I just found out that the links to all my posts and pages generate a 404 error message. I did see itsbobtitsa and Joseph Ratliff’s emails about the same problem, but the did not understand the solution to the latter. Anna/www.rocklandgreenmap.org

bump up. same problem here. I read about the htaccess file at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/169385?replies=4
What would have happened? Someone on the host side change that file?

I posted too soon. My .htaccess file was not writable, so when I changed the permalink structure WP could not automatically update the .htaccess file. There was a little warning message at the bottom of the page with the code that ought to have been inserted into .htaccess but I did not see it in my zeal. Now, I’ve seen it and I hope my idiocy and realization is your gain.

Can you set this topic as resolved, then ? ??
