• Seems that after updating several of my sites, I am now seeing everything in the admin as bold. That is items are now wrapped with strong tags. How can I fix this. I have disabled all plugins and reverted to default theme. Cleared site cache, browser cache and even restarted my computer. No luck.

    Hi @mannweb,

First of all, check the Master list of issues, specifically around the “My Dashboard fonts looks different” – while it says it’s not a bug, it sounds like in your case you are experiencing a bug related to it.

It sounds like you might have a font installed that has the same name as one of the fonts we’re using, but that isn’t actually the font we intended to be displayed.

Can you post a screenshot of what the admin looks like, along with what browser and operating system you’re using?
Are you able to determine the font you’re using with the browser Developer Tools (If you know how to use them) you could also use a Chrome extension Such as this to find out that information

Yep. It’s trying to use Roboto and it’s using Roboto Bold for some reason. Removed that and now everything is good again. Ubuntu Linux 15.10, Google Chrome and Firefox.

Ok. Added back some of the roboto family font and now I see this (weird characters). Definitely a bug

Thanks for those extra details @mannweb!

How did you remove the Roboto font? Was it an installed font? or one that was in the font-stack of the browser?

We’ve got a similar issue reported where the Google Roboto font may be loaded by a Google Maps plugin, but as you’ve said it persisted with all plugins disabled, I’m guessing you had it installed locally on Ubuntu? Was it installed by default do you know, or for development purposes?

It’s installed locally inside a .fonts folder inside my user account. I have a ton of fonts installed for graphic design/web design purposes, so it’s intentional. I just deleted the Roboto fonts from inside that folder.
