• I upgraded to 2.5.1 a little while ago, and tested everything and it appeared to work find. Just now went to my page and every page says:

    Not Found
Oh no! You’re looking for something which just isn’t here! Fear not however, errors are to be expected, and luckily there are tools on the sidebar for you to use in your search for what you need.

I disabled all the plugins and I looked at the database and things appear to be there. I also looked at the permalinks. I have no idea what could be up. Any help?

  • I may or may not have a similar problem. I am starting with 2.5.1, imported everything from my wordpress.com blog, and on the back end everything looks fine. But upfront, the main index appears as it should, yet clicking on the categories, posts, pages, etc. leads to a 404 error. In fact, the main index page seems to be the only thing that appears.

    Here is the URL: https://65.254.75.74/

I have not reassigned my domain name to this server, because I am building this “behind the scenes” until it’s ready to go live.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

The K2 theme (and any theme based on it) is not compatible with WordPress 2.5, so upgrade to a newer version of your theme if one is available.

    Hi all,

It turns out the problem I had was not related at all! Sorry!

But FTR: I resolved my problem. It turned out that my .htaccess file was not writable.

So, for any newbies like me – if you change your permalink settings, be sure to notice the dialog box that appears down below, copy the code and paste it into your .htaccess file. And change the permissions. More info in the Codex.

Not the theme, updated to the most current version (2.5 compatible) and even tried the built in theme and still nothing. My htaccess is writable. Still have no clue what it is. ??

    Thanks for the ideas,
    Ed

I just don’t get it. Anyone else have this problem?

Not having this specific problem but I think it is related. I am on the dashboard and I click on manage pages and I get a 404 error. I can edit pages from each of the pages in my site. But for example, if I create a new page, then want to go back and edit it, and it is not currently linked to on my site I cannot get to it.

Does this sound similar to your problem?
