• I learned some more PHP tricks, and redesigned my site, evolution from the ground up.

If there are enough people interested, I’ll chop all my own hacks out of the theme and release it as a WordPress theme.

    Your comments/criticisms appreciated, as always.

  • Clean and nice… I like the layout and the shade of blue

It’s a nice simple design. You should release it if that’s your plan – later on people will find and use it.
One thing: when clicking on the comments link it brings up the popup comments page; however when you click on the permalink it shows the comments below the post. Is this intentional?

I’m curious about the double post links you have under each post title, as well. Is there a reason behind that? One is a permalink and the other has another category title with the link titles set for Genus. What’s that about?

I’m trying to stick to biological/evolutionary terminology for the theme of the site. The first of those links is the link to the category archives to which the post belongs. The name “Genus:” is meant to evoke a category in Linnaean taxonomy. ??

The second link is nothing more than a standard permalink to the single post.

moshu: Yes, that is intentional. I can see reasons why someone might not want to do that, but to be honest, I like it that way. ??
