    Hello,
I am using Evolve on a couple of sites, and on one of them, I need to stick with an older version because of some header customization. I noticed that the theme was updated, and then I replaced it with the older version only to come back and see that it had been updated again. The only other person with admin privliges says she hasn’t done this, just wanted to see if there was any kind of auto update written into the theme, or if there’s anyplace I can turn this off. I haven’t noticed it on sites using an older version of the theme. Thanks!

  • Hi,

There is no auto update written into theme. www.ads-software.com does not allow that. You need to manually click to install update.

or if there’s anyplace I can turn this off

This is highly not recommended, because some theme updates are for bug fixing.
However if you really need it, you can edit style.css, find the theme version number and change to a much larger number.

    Thank you

Thanks, it seems like it only updates on one site that uses evolve out of 4-5. I’ll change the style.css version. I use a variety of themes for wordpress, and don’t have trouble updating them. Evolve is the only theme that very often gives me design surprises on update.

    You are welcome.
    Thank you

I agree with this, but I am not the theme author or developer, so can’t make comment on this issue.
I will let the theme developers know your feedback.

fyi, bluehost is now starting to enable theme updates by default, that was the problem. They’re not doing it on all servers/domains yet, but you will probably run into this again. People can turn off automatic theme updates in their “wordpress tools” in their control panel.

    Thank you for these information.
