    this is bleeding-edge alpha: https://github.com/nosilver4u/ewwwio-silo

Hi, we have been using another image ‘smush’ plugin in our current single server setup, but want to switch to ewww and run it in our own environment. We are also in the midst of setting up our wordpress site for HA and scaleout by separating app, db and media into separate server clusters.
I have been looking but I have not found any instructions on setting up a separate server/instance to run ewww optimization without it being installed directly in wp content folder. We are assigning a central location for wp-content/uploads, and wp-content/plugins is being replicated on multiple servers.
I would like to know if ewww (and related apps) can be be installed in a central location or if it needs to be physically present in each wp-content instance? Is the only option for doing something like this by using the ewww silo discussed here?
    Thanks.

Yup, that’s exactly what EWWW IO SILO is for. I’ve made some pretty good progress the last week or so, but no matter how stable it is, I always recommend you have a backup of your images before you run EWWW IO (in any form).
The only requirements for SILO are php-cli and php-sqlite3. It keeps track of all images optimized in a local SQlite3 database. You then copy config.sample.php to config.php and modify the settings as appropriate, unless you just want to use the defaults.
Then, you’d want to run a full pass of all your images from the command-line, after which you can setup a cron job to regularly call cli.php and keep everything optimized as you upload new images.

    Ok, thaks for responding.
Would all the optimization tools ( jpegtran, TinyJPG, JPEGmini, optipng, pngout, pngquant, TinyPNG, and gifsicle) be intalled on ewww silo or stil in each wp instance?

We’re not supposed to talk about paid services on the forums, so please see https://ewww.io/contact-us/

As for all the optimization tools, they are available locally for SILO (or via the API for tinypng/jpg and jpegmini), it doesn’t interact with WP at all. By default it puts the tools in the tools/ subfolder, but you can configure that by defining EWWW_IMAGE_OPTIMIZER_TOOL_PATH in config.php.

Hi, yes u are right. I have removed the reference and will contact through your site.
    Thanks.

I received from wordfence the message to upgrade this plugin and I did.
Now I am not able to work on my site https://www.MyIndoWorld.com.
When I tried to add a post and want to log in, I receive the following message.

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home1/rgeenen/public_html/myindoworld.com/wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/bulk.php on line 740

I do not what to do, because I cannot access and also not call up a backup.
    I need help, please

@ronny-geenen, first you should never post on a random thread.
Second, you should delete the plugin via whatever file manager your webhost provides, and reinstall 3.2.1 with the fix. Then, you should upgrade your PHP to something less ancient.

Is it good to convert file from PNG to JPG as when I try to resize png then it always look good while JPG become less attractive.
