Thanks for the Plugin, on the whole it’s working well, however I can’t find any reference (other than in the readme file) to the side bar widget even in the code.

Do you have an example of the Yada wikki tags that that are required to create a sidebar and insert a TOC into it?

    Thanks, Nick

    Hi Nick,

I’m sorry the usage isn’t discussed better in the FAQ section, but here is how you can use the widget:

    * Right now when you use it, you need to give the Yada Wiki widget a title. Next time I update I’ll allow for a blank title.

Using the widget is an either or:

    * If you don’t specify a category then the widget will show what is in the TOC wiki article, which means you need to have an article titled TOC.

    * If you do specify a category then the articles in that category will show instead of the TOC article (and no TOC article is necessary). You should have assigned some wiki articles to categories for that to work.

I hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn’t make sense or work right or you have other questions.

Hi David, Thanks for your plugin! I just installed Yada Wiki and created my first (main) wiki page. I noticed WordPress (Highend theme) automatically installing the default sidebar. When I try to edit the page to change the sidebar to a new sidebar I created that has the Yada Wiki widget on it, the wiki page edit does not allow one to modify the page layout or select a different sidebar. How do I change the sidebar to the new one with the Yada Wiki widget? Thanks!

    Hi cydoc,

I’m not totally sure, but here are a couple of possibilities:

-If you just want to add the wiki TOC widget to your side bar, you can in the admin, go to Appearance / Widgets and on the left you will see the Wiki TOC widget. You drag that to the right and drop it into the side bar area that you want. Some themes have several widget areas, so be sure you are putting it in the right one.

-You want to have more than one sidebar set of widgets and show one on the wiki pages and one all the other pages. There are a few different plugins to help with that. I see one of them is this:

Don’t forget, you will need a TOC wiki page or you will have needed to give some wiki articles categories and select that in the widget.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    David
