I imported a small Excel sheet that has one column of code like this:

    Download

I successfully imported it into TablePress, creating a new table.

In the TablePress edit table screen, the links look fine. But when the table is displayed on a WordPress page, all of the link code has been removed. Probably not a TablePress issue, but an initial look at defeating the usual TinyMCE HTML code removal doesn’t appear to help at all.

Anyone else observe this kind of thing? I’m sure there’s a simple answer…

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Just to be sure that I understand: On the table’s “Edit” screen you are seeing the HTML code for the links, but on the page where you entered the Shortcodes, there are no links?

That’s really strange… If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for your help. I tried to create a new table from within TablePress, using links, and that both displayed fine in the TablePress edit screen, and on a test page. So the problem has to do with the imported Excel file.

I am experimenting with the formatting of the Excel column that contains the links to see if that’s the issue. alternatively, I am going to try to export the Excel file as a CSV file, and then imported that.

    I will keep you informed!

I have successfully imported the Excel file into TablePress after having exported it from Excel as a CSV file. A look at both the native Excel file and the CSV file upon import into TablePress shows no apparent differences in the cells containing the links, so the problem must be with the Excel import itself.

I will try to figure out the precise problem when I have some more time, but since the CSV import works perfectly, I’m good for now.

    Hi,

great! Yes, CSV is a bit more robust for the import, so that I recommend it.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
