Excellent, fast-loading & customizable plugin

  • I came across Social snap when searching for fast-loading social plugins. Social snap was highly regarded in this respect, so I decided to check it out. I discovered it had everything I needed, including share count recovery. The icons looked great and nearly everything was customizable.

    I was most impressed with its page load speed. After using AddtoAny for many years, I was shocked at how much faster Social Snap is. It improved my speed scores by at least 5 points on all speed metric tests, including eliminating 5 http requests. The key here seems to involve caching of share counts, so the plugin doesn’t need to make requests to each social network every time a page is loaded.

    Point of advice for the team: I would advise putting “Social Snap” first in the plugin title name, as users are apt to get confused when they see “Social Sharing for WordPress” first. However, maybe the SEO perks outweigh the risks here? Regardless, I’m happy to give this plugin a 5-star rating. Well worth the $39 annually for an excellent plugin.

    We have definitely worked a lot on the speed of the plugin because we know how important that has become.

    In regards to the name of the plugin, great feedback. We’ll take a look and see if that makes sense.
