• This is a very well designed and robust plugin that does exactly what it is supposed to do — give you full control on how emails are sent from your wordpress installation, including email logging, detailed error messages, oauth and all the UX to make all this work seamlessly.

It solved a ton of work for me trying to resolve why mail wasn’t being sent properly (through the hosting-provided solution).

    A few notes:
    – you might want to create a separate email (I did a new free gmail account) to send the email through. The potential problem is that the oauth requests full permission (read, modify, delete) email access (for gmail at least), so in case the site gets compromised, with the credentials the attackers can still wreck havoc if they have access to your mail (because they can also read).
    – you might need to join the https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/risky-access-by-unreviewed-apps if you get the “Invalid Scope” when trying to auth with google
    – you might need to disable the email validation check (from “Show All Settings”/”Message”/”Disable email validation”)
