• Well, I think it’s a good plugin. I just installed the free version on my production server. However there is a huge amount of work to translate user interfaces in French. Not only in templates, it is also necessary to modify hard php files, which is not very recommended.

    I think to upgrade to PRO version, but I just read that I must uninstall the Free version before installing the PRO version, and therefore lose all the modifications made for the French language.

    I think I will wait for the translation to advance on development side before migrating.
    When this is done, I think it will be an excellent plugin for managing comments in WordPress.

  • @wyse92 Thank you for the 5-star review!

    it is also necessary to modify hard php files, which is not very recommended.

    Can you tell me which PHP files you’re referring to? All of the strings in Comment Mail are passed through the standard WordPress translation functions and can be translated like anything else in WordPress.

    I think to upgrade to PRO version, but I just read that I must uninstall the Free version before installing the PRO version, and therefore lose all the modifications made for the French language.

    When upgrading, you won’t lose Comment Mail settings and configuration and you can reuse all of your translations (just leave the the name of the translation file comment-mail.pot).

    Please note that as per the WordPress Forum Guidelines we’re not allowed to provide support for the Pro version here on these forums. Please use our forums to ask questions about the Pro version.

    Hello, sorry for late.

    for php example : drop-down @ /src/includes/templates/type-s/site/comment-form/sub-ops.php

    Ok i modified .po file with poiedit (in free version) i am going to upgrade.

    @wyse92 Here’s the file you’re referring to:
    https://github.com/websharks/comment-mail-pro/blob/161213/src/includes/templates/type-s/site/comment-form/sub-ops.php

    All of the strings in that file already pass through the proper WordPress translation functions (e.g., __()), including all of the drop-down options, so there’s no need to modify those PHP files directly. You should simply use the standard method of translating WordPress strings.
