• I am trying to configure “excerpt” and/or “get_content” to show the whole post when clicked rather than jump to the next sequence. Frankly I must be stoopid cuz i cant get it done.

    HELP!!!

  • Try to rephrase your question.
    Where do you want to “configure the excerpt”?
    What is get_content? Can’t remember such a tag…
    What do you mean by “next sequence”?

    ok – i am using (more…) to show previews of my posts; i want to configure it to show [Continue…] instead of (more…) – done that;

    also, i want to configure it to go to the beginning of the post and show the whole post when clicked rather than go to the text below (more…) and show just it which is what’s happening now. check out https://www.itredux.com for an example.

    my weblog is https://www.celeriq.org

    thanks

    oh – and mabye have a (book)mark thingie (dont ask me to elaborate) to show where the break point was.

    mybe i’m dreaming a bit – i don’t even know if this is a real good idea, do u have any examples of best-practice?

    thanks

    OK, now it’s clearer. The tag <more> and the_excerpt are NOT the same. They are two different techniques to show only a few lines of the post – using them as if they were inter-changable… confused me ??

    1. https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Customizing_the_Read_More
    2. For that (going to the beginning of the post) I am afraid you have to alter core files.

    2 – there’s a plugin that will do that (jump to the top of the post when going to the single view. Darned if I can recall the name, but some google searching ought to turn it up.
