basically anywhere;
you might have some styles for .alignleft already, so possibly add the new styles after that.

I couldn’t get it to work either trying to find the style that refers to the excerpts or just copying and pasting that code. Any other ideas?

clear your browser cache by ‘reload’ing the page a few times, or by pressing ‘ctrl f5’ or whatever your browser needs.
