Excerpt conflict problems

Expound does a great job of creating excerpts and displaying them perfectly. My problem is that if there is an excerpt provided with the post it forces Expound to display the entire post on the home page.

When I edit out the excerpt from a post it works fine and Expound creates its own excerpt. My problem comes when I import RSS feeds through the FeedWordPress plugin. Posts always seem to come with an excerpt and I can’t get the feeds to stop providing the expert.

Alternatively, how can I configure Expound to ignore any excerpt provided with a post and go ahead and create its own?
