Excerpt does not show up when updating a post

  • When I add or update a post, the excerpt field is not shown. Is there somewhere where I tell WordPress to include the excerpt field on posts?

  • Yes, the excerpt field can be disabled by code. But that could rather still cause both your theme or a plugin you use. I would recommend to check them. Disable all plugins as a test and/or change the theme just for testing.
