Excerpt length does NOT work

  • First of all, great plugin!!! Love it!!!

    It works great on everything except for one thing. Under Content, there’s place where you can control length of excerpt to control amount of content. this does NOT work at all.

    I tried selecting both Excerpt and content on show on slide (along with thumbnail and title) and both times, it displays entire content overflowing the slide…..

    I tried limiting excerpt length to 5 words, no change. Help please!!!

    Hi, the feature is well tested in different setup. There is no problem with the excerpt length.

    look like you was trying template three and used both Excerpt and content at a time. If you select content then slider will show your full post content not the excerpt. So, if you want to show only number of words from content then select excerpt with other needed element like thumbnail, title.

    I checked your link. Be sure that you are changing right optset. Check the optset id from ‘Label & Usage’ and your used optset id.

    Your screenshot looks OK except one things, in content section content width is 0. You should provide some value depending on you container width and thumbnail width.

    I am little surprised, I see thumbnail and title is selected in the screenshot but I see content in your provided url https://clearcharity.org/2015/uncategorized/test-of-slider

    Check one more time that you are using this [avps-slideshow optset=”3″] shortcode which option set id is 3.

    I am unable to reproduce the problem in my environment. So, it’s hard to find out the actual problem with you.

    One with content width 0 is on front page of the website. I’m currently using it without any content due to the issue and just displaying picture & title. But I would like to display excerpt if we can find a way to make this work.

    Hello bulewold, sorry for the late answer and we appreciate your patience.

    We always try our best to solve bugs or user requested feature ASAP but the fact was we unable to re produce your problem. Actually we didn’t find any problem with excerpt length feature at our test environment. For that we cant do anything for you. May be it’s your theme specific problem.Please ask your developer to look for the issue and don’t forget to mention if you get something. That will help other people in future.

    Also if you want our support stuff to look your implementation, you can ask it but you may need to create some temporary access for them.
