Excerpt Not Showing In The Correct Place

I’m really new to the use of blocks and block themes even though I have been with WP for some time. That makes me think I am missing something fundamentally easy. That and I can’t seem to find too many posts here or elsewhere about this.

I have 2023 installed. I go to Design then Pages then Blog Home then edit. I have a Query Loop set up:

Everything works fine but when I insert the Excerpt tag after the Title

it looks fine in the editor but when I look at the site, the excerpts are all at the top of the page:

Am I putting the excerpt tag in the wrong place? I’ve tried it a couple of different ways.
