Excerpts everywhere except homepage.

  • Hello,

    I read this tutorial – https://www.dailyblogtips.com/use-post-excerpts-everywhere/ but the code shown there does not work.

    I am using the Freshy template and I would like to make it possible for all posts on the main page not to show as excerpts while all others (archives/search results) to show as excerpts. I only managed to edit the loopcode and replaced the_content with the_excerpt but it truncated the posts displayed on the mainpage too.

    Could you let me know if this is good for SEO and should I bother to find a way to do it (or ask for help as I did in this post)?

    If you want excerpts of posts to be shown on archives & search results then replace the_content() with the_excerpt() in the theme files archive.php & search.php

    To show full posts on index page the loop should contain
    the_content() and NOT the_excerpt()
