Excesive resource usage by WordFence since last update

  • Hi,

    My hosting provider has sent a status message in which they say that they see several WordPress websites using more resources then usual and they advice to disable WordFence as that might solve the problem.

    I asked them for more details and they say that they only see this on website that have the latest version of Wordfence (7.2.2) installed and that the problem stopped after disabling or downgrading Wordfence.

    They advised me to contact you about this because you know what has changed between that and the previous version.

    I don’t think my own websites experience resource issues, but still I think you should be made aware of a possible issue.

    Any idea?

  • Does this slow down your website, or cause you to require more bandwidth you’d need to pay for? If not, perhaps just ignore. In other words, is it really a “problem” or just a change? MTN

    Like I said, “I don’t think my own websites experience resource issues”. I post it here for the WordFence guys to find out if it is a real problem…
