    Hi,

    Problem 1

I recently went through the steps and reconfigured my Yoast set up to remove the author archive ( i think i selected no to the multiple authors). As soon as I finished a message popped up that said something like “you have a new SEO problem” but it vanishes immediately and I can’t find the actual problem anywhere. Somewhere on my dashboard it tells me there’s no SEO issues. Any thoughts on the issue?

    Problem 2

I posted 2 posted and a page on the same day, and all 3 have an excessive number of external links. I add a max of 4 ext links to all posts/pages but my new page for example says it has 32, when i count 3.

Someone else thought it was a plugin/theme issue so I installed a health check plugin, deactivated all the plugins and the problem still exists.

Im wondering if the two issues are linked? If not, any thoughts on how to fix them?

    Thanks

    Chris

  • 1. That may happen if you have cache plugin, the issue is for the cache version and when you reload the page, the cache expired and the issue gone.

    2. You counted on front-end or HTML? If you copied and pasted the content, you may not see the hidden links inside the content.

If you clear the cache from your caching plugin and deactivate and reactivate the Yoast SEO plugin, do any SEO notifications still appear?

With regards to the external links, please do note that the Yoast SEO plugin will only be able to detect external links within the default content editor, and not in any of the outside areas such as the header, menu, footer, or other widgets.

Since there is no further response, setting this to resolved.
