    Hello,

We’ve been editing our site, and testing it has populated a good amount of redirects. We would like to clean it up so that only the redirects we intentionally created are showing. Is it ok to delete the excess redirects or should we leave them there?

    Thanks

I don’t know what excess redirects are. You can delete any redirect you want – they are all yours.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. We have a lot of redirects that we did not create that look like this:

    /contemporary-home-design-san-diego-4/
    /contemporary-home-design-san-diego-23/

I think WordPress or Redirection is creating these on the fly as we iterate early versions of our pages. Once we have the final page in place, none of these should be necessary so we can delete them without issue, correct?

    Thanks!

Are these in Redirection? Your settings will create a redirect whenever a post permalink changes. If you don’t want that, you can change the setting from the options page.

Can you delete them? Sure, you can delete anything. You are in control of the redirects and can delete anything you don’t think is necessary.
