    Hi,
I’d been happily using this plugin for quite some time but Hostgator just shut down our site for excessive CPU usage. They haven’t told me why, specifically, but their KB lists WP Post Views as a resource-intensive plugin. I found an old support thread confirming this, so has the issue been fixed since or not? I really enjoy using this plugin and would like to continue using it, if possible–our site isn’t big and gets about 200-400 visitors a day. If I have to remove it (and I might, since I’m pretty sure HG support techs will insist I try that first) will the plugin leave any code or other traces that I need to be aware of? If yes, how do I remove it cleanly?

Yeap, it is resource intensive because every load to a post page will do a +1 to the counter in the DB. It will never be fixed because that is how the plugin works/designed

But if you are only getting 400 plus visitors a day, it is ok to use it. On my own site getting between 2k-2.5k hits per day, it still works fine.

Having said that, I am on a VPS, so I have dedicated server resource. So if you are on a shared host, maybe that is a big deal since server resource is shared.

To remove it, just click on the delete link on your plugin page.
