Excessive CPU Utilization

    My ISP has reported excessive CPU utilization, owing to the process

    wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    I first suspected excessive heartbeat, but installing the plugin that stops that did not make any difference.

    I disabled your Limit Attempts plugin and then monitored the process list. The wp-admin/admin-ajax.php process did not run and the CPU utilization returned to normal.

    Hi rvbinder,

    Our Limit Attempts plugin cannot load wp-admin/admin-ajax.php process, as it uses ajax function only on the plugin settings page to restore default error notifications and email messages. This function goes off only when “Restore default message” and “Restore default subject” buttons are clicked on.
