    After submission of an RSVP the user experiences an extensive hang time while the RSVP is processed. This can be in excess of one minute. Once it is complete they do receive a thank you for RSVP on the website, but they do not receive their email. I will continue to trouble shoot the email delivery to them, but I am getting emails acknowledging the RSVP on my end. My concern is the extensive hang time as users think the submission has failed and then retry it multiple times.

  • That is a first. Have you tried it on a different host? Or have you disabled email notifications to see if that is what is holding it up? Feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can troubleshoot this together.

    As a follow-up after an offline email it sounds like the resolution was to add in a mail queue plugin to make sending mail asynchronous.

    Correct! I essentially disabled all the plugins in use, added a SMTP mail queue plugin and then re-enabled the plugins in use. All is running as intended now. Thanks Mike for the quick follow up on this.
