I have a very similar question. I have a custom post type with some meta data fields. I have to search as usual but exclude results that have a certain meta data in them. Is it (going to be) possible? That would help extremely much.

@candelier, in the options of your custom meta field (in the plugin setting page table) you can delete those meta value that you don’t want and it will not display in the search form, thus it has been excluded in the search.

@ron_dev, sorry for this question, can you say date when new version finished?

I already submit it to WP, now wait them to approve. I can’t tell when it can be done, WP use real human to approve the plugins, thus the duration of a plugin has been approved is vary from few days to few weeks.
So, we just have to wait.

I’m sorry, I formulated my question wrong. What I am actually looking for is to:
– run a string search
– but exclude from the results those (custom) posts that have a certain meta data attached to them.

No, you cannot do that. Once you using string search, it will automatically ignore the taxonomy and custom meta field setting.

@ron_dev, hi again. why they removed your plugin?

@mexalim, I have an advance version of this plugin. However, there are significant changes on the coding, and I am advised by WP team to remove the old plugin to avoid confusing.

The new plugin should be in the repository by next week. I just haven’t got the time to adding it to wp plugin respository right now.
