I’ve seen support posts about excluding images from optimization, but is it possible to only exclude them from having a ‘WebP’ image created?

I see an exclusion box for listing “JS WebP and Picture Web Exclusions”, but this seems to be just for the Javascript “delivery method” for Cloudflare (which we do use).

    Hi @jamminjames

Yeah the exclusion boxes for the delivery methods prevent the WebP version of the image from being served. I don’t believe there is a way to exclude WebP from being generated other than turning off the conversion option when uploading or optimizing an image for which you don’t want a WebP version.

Okay, thanks. It would be nice to add that option. We save certain images with the same name, though they are new images, and upload them via FTP now and then. The image won’t update on the site unless we delete the old webp images.

Just a quick follow-up, as we’d never recommend replacing existing images with the same name. That’s prone to all sorts of issues with caching, both server side and browser-based, so folks may end up seeing your old images even months after you replaced them.
