‘Exclude’ not working in Page sidebar Widget?

  • I have a couple of Pages I’d like to Exclude from showing in my sidebar. I’m using the Page Widget, sorting by Page Order, and I use Permalinks.

    I’ve tried entering the permalink name “thank-you” (with double quotes, with single quotes, and with no quotes) for the page under “Exclude”, and also tried entering the numeric ID (201) for that page which I looked up in MySQL, wp_posts Table. None of these attempts have caused this page to be excluded from the Sidebar list of Pages.

    What am I missing?

    Oops…never mind!

    ID 201 was an Archived version of the Page I wanted to hide, not the Published version. Once I got the ID number right, it worked just fine.

    Pardon, but where do you see these page-ID’s? Sorry for noob question – assuming the ID is different from the slug?
