• Hi Jeroen, thanks for the plugin, it’s working great on our site.

One quick question – we’re hoping to exclude free shipping based on a constituent part of the UK – Northern Ireland to be exact as it’s overseas. Is there a way to do this currently?

I noticed there is a ‘State Not Equal To’ option that works for US states, but no equivalent in there for the UK. Is this do-able?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

That depends on how that part is defined / how you know a user is in NI.
If it is a state and its not available in Woo you could add it with a custom code (can be found online).

If you can target those people by postcodes then that would be another option.

Another alternative is to create a custom ‘shipping area’ type of field as I wrote about it here; https://shopplugins.com/setting-up-predefined-shipping/

Thanks for your feedback Jeroen. The custom checkout field might be the way to go.

Reading your link, it looks like your pro ‘ADVANCED CHECKOUT FIELDS FOR WOOCOMMERCE’ plugin would allow us to add a dropdown (for England, Scotland, Wales, NI), conditionally showing when the UK is selected as a country. Then your Advanced Free Shipping plugin would be able to hook into that to exclude Free Shipping to one of those options (NI). Is that correct?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

Yes it would allow you to add a dropdown to the checkout fields.

The code snippet in that plugin for the custom condition is based on the other Advanced Shipping?plugin, but you can modify it to work for this plugin instead too.

    Cheers,
    Jeroen
