    Hi,

our default language is Dutch. We want to exclude (Elementor made) posts that aren’t translated, to avoid that they appear at the French newspage. We still want them to be visible on the Dutch page though. Is that somehow possible? With a php script perhaps?

I guess there are more users with the same wish as we have, but I can’t find anything about it in the documentation. I have found the option of restrict (advanced setting of a widget), but that doesn’t work for the posts widget of Elementor, since some of them are translated and some of them are not and this restriction would be for alle the posts shown with this widget.

I have made a workaround on our homepage, where only three posts should be shown under the title ‘Laatste nieuws en publicaties’. There each post has it’s own widget, but in case it’s not shown in the translated language, there is a blank space instead and I think that is ugly for the interface.

Hope you have a solution for this!
    Kind regards,
    Jolanda

    Hi,

Do you mean posts like pages? If so, you can exclude pages from being translated using the Do not translate certain paths feature from TP Settings –> Advanced tab.
However, this will not remove the post from the archive page/news page in your case. This feature excludes just indivudual URLs.

Let me know if I misunderstood your request.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

it’s about the posts (not pages) that are presented with the posts widget from Elementor (like a post archive) on a certain page.

Not every post will be translated. If a post is not translated, than it shouldn’t be shown on the French newspage. Only posts that were translated in French should appear on the French version of the newspage.

So there are posts that can be shown in the French translation, but certain posts won’t be translated in French and in that case we don’t want them to be presented on this news page when people choose the French translation. On the other hand, when choosing Dutch, we still want those post to be there.

So the switch of showing or not showing up in a certain language is depending on the post if this has been translated. Not translated means, only show up on the Dutch newspage. Translated means show up on the French site (translated in French) and on the Dutch site. This counts for every post seperately.

Hope this makes it more clear.

    Kind regards,
    Jolanda

    Hi,

Due to the way our plugin works, we don’t have support for this request.

TranslatePress does not create new posts for the translated versions of the original post. But the translated versions will have separate urls. That means every page has a separate URL for each language no matter if that page is translated or not –> thus, all posts are displayed, even if they are translated or not.
