    Hello,

We have created a Google Product Review feed, of which many products have received only ratings and no review. But unfortunately, Google will not consider a feed that has no review content. Now we need a feed that only contains the products which have review content.

Please help me on how to filter out the products which don’t contain review content from the existing Google Product Review feed.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Unfortunately our plugin does not have a separate filter or rule for that because the assumption is that reviews always have a review text (since this is also required in WooCommerce).

The only thing you can do is exclude products all together, for example based on product ID. So when you add exclude filters on product ID’s their reviews should also be gone from your feed.

    Hope this makes sense?

Our plugin now automatically removed reviews that have no text in them. Just make sure you are on the latest version of the plugin and you should be fine.

    Hello @supportadtribes

Thanks for the update. I have checked the newly generated review feed, it has indeed removed the review with no text in them.

There is just one more issue with the newly generated review feed in the case of variable products. I will explain the issue with an example here,

Let’s say there is a product “Ninja T-shirts” with two color variants Red and Black, and has just 1 review for one of them, for the sake of simplicity. Now the generated XML feed has 3 review nodes, one for each of the variants and one with the base product name. It is fine if the review node is created for each and every variant, but the problem is with the review node created for the base product name. In this example review nodes for “Ninja T-shirts Red” and “Ninja T-shirts Black” is fine as it will have the corresponding identifiers like SKU, MPN, GTIN, etc. but the review node created for the base product “Ninja T-shirts” will not have any corresponding identifiers, so this makes the review node invalid.

I was wondering whether this redundant review node for the base product can be removed, as all the variants review nodes are already present in the feed.

Please check if this can be solved.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. Can you try updating to version 9.4.9 of our plugin? It should remove the review for the parent variable products now.

Please let us know if it worked or not.

    Hello @supportadtribes

After updating to version 9.4.9 of the plugin, I can see that the review for the parent variable product is removed.

    Thanks for resolving this issue.

    Thanks for the heads-up
