Exclude pwd-protect pages: exclude_tree

I have a sitemap page with exclude working fine, but would like to also exclude a password-protected page and children, but exclude_tree doesn’t appear to work (with just one exclude_tree id):

page 606 is
IP Board of Directors Resources

Also, can exclude and exclude_tree be used in same shortcode?
