Exclude roles don't work at all

Should I delete it and download it again as it doesnt work even if I have the latest version before you changed.

I tested to delete plugin and download it again but still I can see admin post in widget even if I have excluded admin from widget result.

Hi @psn,

We may be talking about two different things here. What the role does is exclude authors with the given roles. So if you choose “admin”, no admin users should be displayed by the widget in the front end.

Is the problem that even though you have excluded a specific role, users still show up with that role? If so, I will take another look. If I can’t find the problem could we arrange an admin login and perhaps FTP access via email? Hopefully I won’t need it!

Yes I had some post created by admin user and I exclude admin as role in widget but still I can see admin listed in widget front end.

I didn’t have time to take a look over the weekend, I’ll figure this out on Monday or Tuesday. Could you perhaps create a new Top Authors widget with the exact same settings? If this makes it go away, it may be a saving issue.

I somehow doubt this will be the case but the admin exclusion does work on my end. Also, make sure to use the update feature in the backend if it is available.

Hi Guys,

I found a potential minor issue which MAY fix this if the plugin logic is otherwise ok. The new version, 1.0.2 should include the fix. Just in case, if it’s not a huge hassle, could you delete the plugin and re-install it please?

Yeah now its working ??

Seems only working for post and not for pages as pages is not counted at all. Have tried to resave but no success.

Sorry about all the little bugs, it was my first time acquiring a plugin and re-coding someone else’s work. The original plugin was coded just fine, but it’s a very different way of working than coding things from scratch ??
