Hi, thanks for the great plugin. Work like a charm!

However I noticed it takes the entire page height to calculate the progress instead of the actual content.

Is there a way to exclude the comments, related posts etc. from being accounted for the reading progress?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi Bawva, thanks for getting in touch with me. I looked at your page, it’s weird because the plugin should detect your actual content automatically and use only the post text to calculate reading progress.
Can you check on the settings page (Settings->WP Reading Progress) if you maybe checked the ‘use whole page to calculate reading progress’ checkbox? It should be left empty for the plugin to use the actual height. That is the only explanation I can think of at this moment, please let me know, I will investigate further if unchecking doesn’t help.
    Kind regards, Joeri

    Hi Joeri

Thanks a lot for looking into this. I have disabled the “use whole page to calculate reading progress” function.

Appreciate if you can update this thread once you find a fix ?? Out of a few similar plugins I tried, your one is the best and easiest!

    Hi Joeri

Just wanted to give you an update. I noticed it works fine on posts which are not long. An example is linked below

I am guessing Lazy Load is affecting this? Because I noticed the progress kind of resets when images load while scrolling.

Hi Bawva, thanks for the extra information. I think I solved it, but it was slightly difficult to test with my own installation. There is a new version of the plugin available (1.2.4), if you install it, it will probably display the bar correctly on your website. Can you let me know how it turns out for you?
Good luck with your website, it has some cool contents ??
    Kind regards,

On a separate note, lazyload does indeed affect the bar, because the length of the article changes (relatively to the page). That is not fixed in this version, because I have to do some more research to see how that could be fixed in a satisfying way.

    Hi Joeri

Updated to the latest version as soon as I got the notification ?? and it works perfectly! Thank you for looking into this and providing a quick fix.

About the lazyload, yes the progress bar gets reset upon image load, but that is not affecting the overall progress. Good job ??

And thank you for checking out the website.
