• Hi,

With xCloner 3.1.5, I encounter this problem when I do a backup :
I select a folder to exclude but this one is still present in the backup, so the backup is very big because this folder is a folder used by Duplicator ( 1.1.26) plugin.

    What is going on ?

    Thanks.

    More details about this problem.

When the backup is done in the dialog box “Backup completed” the size of backup is 166.83MB and backup parts = 3 but in the list of backups, I have 4 parts with this size : 117.19 + 99.98 + 59.38 + 17.57 = 294.12 MB.

The information in the dialog box “Backup completed” is not correct.

Could you attach a screenshot from your Generate backup tab with the folder excluded before hitting the generate backup button?

Here is Generate backup before backup

    Thanks

Is it only that folder that doesn’t get exclude or any other selection you make? Try checking them all in the webroot folder and see how it goes

I am trying to test locally, but i can’t reproduce this bug, if you like, feel free to email me the hosting account access details as well as the WP admin data to have a look at the bug, you can do it from here https://www.thinkovi.com/contact/

    Hi,

Small history of events on the site:
October 21: backup (2 parts) then update WordPress (4.6.1), Akismet (3.2), Contact Form 7 (4.5.1), Mail Poet (2.7.5), User Access Manager (1.2.6.10) xCloner (3.1.5)
November 4: backup (2 parts) then update Theme My Login 6.4.6
November 30: backup (2 parts) then setup Duplicator 1.1.24
December 14: backup (4 parts) then update WordPress (4.7), Contact Form 7 (4.6), User Access Manager (1.2.7.4) – I have not excluded the folder “wp-snapshots”
December 27: backup (2 parts) then update User Access Manager (1.2.7.5), Duplicator (1.1.26) – I have excluded the folder “wp-snapshots”

Since the last update, the plugin User Access Manager asks to update the database. I did not do it yet because I wanted to make a backup before.

And today when I exclude a folder (I have test with another folder than wp-snapshots) the backup process not use the exclusion.

I just saw one thing: the path of the excluded folder is writing like this :
    /web/billedeclown/www/emperbel//wp-snapshots
    therefore not correctly?

What is strange is that I have always used the plugin with this Backup Start Path: /web/billedeclown/www/emperbel/

I hope that all this will help to understand…

    Thanks

Could you try and reinstall the latest version of XCloner, we should have the double // slashes issue fixed

The latest version of xCloner is already installed and I’m using this version.

I agree to reinstall it but I do not see what it could change?

I did post some updates to the same version 2 weeks ago, if you installed it earlier than this time, then no need to reinstall it

I have reinstall the plugin but now I can’t access to content of folders (the single click don’t works) and when I select one folder, the folder is not in the Excluded items list and it is in the backup.

    Thanks

If you can share your site details https://www.thinkovi.com/contact/ , i would be happy to look and fix this bug. Thanks

This issue should be fixed in latest version 4.0.1 , please let me know if you encounter further issues. The latest version also provides a new regex exclude option beside the normal click and exclude option from the Generate Backup screen
