Excluding Category in RSS feed in WP2

I’m using WP 2, and I’m having trouble excluding one category from my RSS feed as suggested in a myriad of posts. As gravestmor points out it doesn’t work with WP2.0

Any suggestions for what I can do? And is there no plugin out there handling this kind of thing?
