Excluding Children Categories

  • Hi guys, i’m developing a site powered by wp, and i’ve run into some sort of trouble when i try to display the categories, i would like to hide the children categories, from its parent. I know that it can be done manually, excluding the category number, but that would kinda break the auto functionality of wp cause each time a new cat is added, ill have to go to the php and edit the file to hide the new children.

    So, any ideas you guys have, or a plugin to achieve this, or maybe including it to wordpress, i would gladly appreciate it ??

  • Is this for displaying posts under category queries, or the category list in say your sidebar?

    If the latter, it may be possible to hack something that would dynamically hide child categories. But it would help to know more on what the expected results are.
