    Great plugin. However, there is no easy way to exclude certain files from minification. We have to use your “filters.” The majority of users have no idea how to use your filters. Explanation on how to use your filters is limited. No examples provided either.

    Based on the above, requesting that SG consider updating SGO to make it more user-friendly for file exclusions. That is, by simply entering the URL path of the file that needs to be excluded instead of using your filters. WP Rocket (plugin) already has this feature incorporated and it works very well. Click here.

    Please don’t mark this topic as “Resolved” until the enhancement has been incorporated into your plugin.

    Thank you!

    CSS & JS minification have both easy-to-use exclude system. Just click on the exclude link and you will see a list of all properly enqueued scripts and styles.

    If you don’t see the one you want to exclude there just use the filter which is pretty standard as any other WordPress filter. The only variable is the handler which the plugin dev should know or looking through the code should suffice. There’s nothing more to document there because the filter is there for those who don’t really follow standards or have something custom.

    I am marking this as Resolved because there isn’t really an issue to solve.

    @hristo-sg,

    Thanks for the reply. SG Optimizer is a great plugin. However, it still needs to be improved in many areas.

    For Example (as it relates to this topic):

    (1) It does not include an option to exclude enqueued scripts and styles by simply entering the affect file path (WP Rocket provides this option WITHOUT the use of complicated, cumbersome filters.)

    (2) Your plugin description should at least explain better how to use the filters. Why is this such a big deal?

    Did you know? We submitted a ticket asking SG to solve our particular issue concerning the use of your filters and learned the following: (a) Your customer service agents did not know how to use the “handler” part of your filters (it’s on record); (b) Your customer service agents admitted that one of your filters was wrong (now corrected).

    SG always offers great customer support. Recently, however, we have experienced some arrogance and lack of friendly support coming from certain customer support agents.

    Remember, not all of your customers are coders or developers. If the issue is related to your products (not ours), SG should continue to support and help us without sending us to these coders or developers.

    Last, does SG have a link where we can submit recommendations or suggestions for SG Optimizer? The ones we’ve submitted (via your ticketing system) always seem to go into a “black hole,” with no follow-up nor action taken.

    Thanks for your time and effort. Truly appreciated. These are challenging times and we recognize you’re trying to help and support many customers at the same time.

    We look forward to the continuous improvement of SG Optimizer.

    Cheers!
